About Tiny Little Things
I’m sure we are all familiar with the children’s hymn “Jesus Loves Me.” But have you all heard the story woven around the lyrics?
There was a boy named Johnny Fax, told in the novel “Say and Seal” by Susan and Anna Warner. Living in poverty, little Johnny was a gentle and cheerful child but was also frail and very ill. His father was around, but absent. Thankfully, Johnny’s heavenly Father gave him a fatherly figure that filled the void in his heart and quenched his spiritual longing. It was Mr. Linden, a local teacher in the community. Together with his wife, Ms. Faith, they became spiritual teachers and emotional mentors for little Johnny.
The couple was always by his side even as the little boy was fading. Towards the end of his short journey, wrapped in Mr. Linden’s arms, Johnny’s tiny voice asked him, “Sing!” The man’s low-toned voice then raised his song, “Jesus loves me, this I know, for the Bible tells me so. Little ones to Him belong, they are weak but He is strong.”
The child trusted the Lord, his faith was simple yet strong. He wasn’t scared of the end of his little steps. He looked forward to the day he would live where Jesus lives.
This may only be a short story of a novel, but didn’t Jesus say that “Unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven”? Jesus calls us to come to Him as His little ones, weak, fragile, pure, and full of trust.
So, God’s little ones, as Acts 17:28 says, “For in him we live and move and have our being,” let us bring our praise to Him with all the little things He has given us. Here we begin the Tiny Little Things.
Jesus loves me, this I know
For the Bible tells me so
Little ones to Him belong
They are weak but He is strong
Jesus loves me, He who died
Heaven’s gate to open wide
He will wash away my sin
Let His little child come in
Jesus loves me, loves me still
Though I’m very weak and ill
From His shining throne on high
Comes to watch me where I lie
Jesus loves me, He will stay
Close beside me all the way
Then His little child will take
Up to heaven for His dear sake

About me

Hello! I’m the writer behind this scribble!
My name is Mila. Yes, the picture is me as a kid, but I’ve passed that phase. I completed my Master’s degree in Church Music and Ministry Leadership at Singapore Bible College in 2019, and I am currently serving in Keluarga Epiphaneia, a Christian para-church fellowship in Indonesia. During my studies, I learned that worship is a response to God’s revelation, and it goes beyond just music. It encompasses every aspect of our lives as we respond to the Lord for His revelation and the blessings He has bestowed upon us. This insight inspires me to form a small group of individuals who have served in our fellowship gatherings that they would be equipped to worship the Lord and serve others in various situations.
Apart from mentoring this small group, I spend my days writing articles and content drafts, formatting Bible study materials, and editing sermons of our online services and uploading them to our podcast. I also continue to study the Bible and read Christian literatures to enhance my service to the Lord. Currently, I am practising my writing and art skills to worship the Lord with all the talents He has blessed me with.
That’s a little bit about me. Would you mind telling me your little stories too? Let’s be friends!
