Hi there! Did you read the previous post I wrote last time? If you haven’t then I recommend you to do so, because this post is the continuation of the findings I want to share about the reasons to worship the Lord found in the account of creation.

Previously, I shared about God’s revelation as the Creator, everlasting God, sovereign God, and the last but most powerful finding from them all is that God has revealed Himself as a Savior from before the beginning of the world. This time, I‘d like to share with you the following reasons why we worship God: Because God is …

But before that, let’s turn to our Bible in Genesis 1:3-5.

God is the Initiator

The verses in the ESV translation start with three words: “And God said …” I’m sure this was not the first time God ever spoke, but these two words marked the beginning of a whole new chapter in the world we know. It all started with God because God is the initiator. God had the idea of creating the world and He put the act of it.

In His wisdom, God thought of the whole order of creation and then spoke it into existence. This finding encourages me to be actively thinking (and working) in the field the Lord has put me in. It is my worship that follow God’s initiative thoughts in creating the universe, and if I ever lack of wisdom, God has given His promise in James 1:5,

God is the Executor

The word of God makes things happen, as the apostle John wrote in his gospel chapter one verse one that says,

We could see that this word of God that by it everything is made is God Himself. Does it make sense to you? God is not only the initiator, He is also the executor of His plan. The first and foremost example to walk the talk is God Himself and if want to follow Him, we must do so! God creates as He speaks!

I am humbled by the thought that serving the Lord and praising His name is such a blessing! Without me, God can do all things for Himself. The world’s creation was planned and executed by God, leaving me with no room to act. However, thanks be to God, that by His mercy, He grants us to worship and fulfill His will.

God is Powerful

In Psalm 33:9, it is said, “For He spoke, and it came to be; He commanded, and it stood firm.” Doesn’t this remind us of what the Lord accomplished at the beginning of the world? God’s word holds immense power that created the universe. Shouldn’t this make us feel reverential towards the word of God and seek to live by it day and night?

The word of God started the world. The word of God created the universe and everything in it. The word of God is God Himself (John 1:1). The word of God was there before the beginning of the world, the word was with God and the Word was God, says the scripture. All things were (and are) made through the Word of God (John 1:3), and we have faith that the Word of God has become flesh and came in the midst of us through Jesus Christ our God. This note by Apostle John reveals to us the mystery of the Creator since the beginning of creation that God is Jesus.

Jesus is the image of the invisible God (Col 1:15) and by His revelation, through Him we come to know God. The power He shows that separated the light and the dark is the same power that guide us who worship Him, until the end of the age (Matt 28:20).

God is the Ruler

When “God saw,” He judged “That the light was good.” He then acted to separate the light from the darkness. In His supreme power, God makes all things work for His divine plan. Even when it’s impossible, like, how to separate something that can be seen but untouchable like the light and the dark? Only God is able; there’s nothing impossible with Him.

In His authority, God unfolds the universe according to His plans and revealed Himself to us. God created a clear distinction between darkness and light and named them night and day. This separation allows us to recognize and appreciate the blessings that God has given. The night that God created allows us to rest, making us ready to face the world in the light of day. All living beings, including plants, animals, and humans, follow the natural order of time, which is regulated by the cycle of night and day that God has established. God rules over the darkness and light. In knowing this, darkness should not scare us, nor the light should blind us. Nothing could stop us from looking to God and worshipping His name!

Thank you for reading this article, I hope you feel blessed as I do! I would be glad to hear your story about God and all His goodness. I am currently getting back on my track to write weekly post (hopefully more in the future). Let’s connect and so I could hear your story too about the goodness of God!
